The Upstairs Family Suite

The upstairs consists of the Rose and Blue rooms and one bathroom. The rooms may be available separately during the week, but as a suite only on Saturday nights.

The Rose Room

The window seat Romantic for a couple, cozy for a solo traveler, and beloved by children, who want the window seat to be their bed.

The Blue Room

The Blue Room ready for guests in June 2007 Intense yet soothing, a room decorated with a sense of fun. Another good hideaway, this time with its own computer with highspeed internet.

The Upstairs Bathroom

The upstairs rooms share a hall bathroom.

Copper pot determined the paint colors This one is a real challenge to show. The first picture is truest to the room's colors, which were chosen to match the oxidized copper vase that holds dried lavender from the garden.

ADA toilet, at least The upstairs ceilings are six-three at their highest. The bathroom does not give a lot of room for manoeuvring. But we tried to make it very inviting through color, freshness and lighting. Seashells and bulkhead lights continue the water theme of the colors, as does a watercolor beach scene placed to suggest a window.

Upstairs bathroom with shower and heated towel rack We do not have a picture of the neo-angle shower stall, which has glass on three sides, solid wall behind on two. All the fixtures are new.

Broad pedestal sink and best we could do with mirrors On the practical side, there is an efficient exhaust fan in the ceiling, and a heated towel rack, as well as lots of hooks, of course. Because this room is small, hairstyling and makeup can more comfortably be done in the bedrooms. Therefore, the Rose Room has a wall-mounted hair dryer, and both bedrooms have a makeup mirror and shelves on the walls behind the door, as well as mirrors on the bedroom doors.

About the Upstairs

Booking both rooms together makes an excellent family suite with a very private feel. Note that innkeeper quarters are on the ground floor near the main entry, so you will have the upstairs to yourselves. Either room feels like a wonderfully private hideaway.

These rooms are up rather steep stairs, The ceilings are low: 6 ft 3 in max.

The two rooms share a bathroom off the hall; it is next to the Blue Room.

There is central air conditioning in the house, but the low roof makes mid-summer temperatures a challenge. Each bedroom has a quiet oscillating fan with remote control. The upstairs bathroom has no air-conditioning vent, only a ceiling exhaust fan and a small oscillating fan.
