The Suite

This room is generally reserved for English-as-a-second-language programs. It is available most holidays and regatta periods for three-night B & B stays.

Suite

The Suite is on the ground floor with north and west exposure. It has a king bed, an ensuite bathroom with shower, and a sunroom/sitting room with tv.

The bedroom walls are deep terra cotta, the sunroom (photo below) is wood panelled and the bathroom is in cool, soft shades of avocado green. The bedroom shades are made from a silk obi dating from the 1930s. The artwork has a waterside theme, with original watercolor, oil and acrylic paintings of boats, harbors and coastal landmarks.

Suite Sunroom The sunroom exits to the north yard. The curtains, untied, provide total privacy.

The main room, like all the bedrooms here, is approximately 15' x 15'. The homemade bedcover is a Dutch Art Deco polished cotton from Liberty of London. The French doors leading to the sunroom are hung with panels made from a Japanese silk obi that predates WWII.

The Suite's Bathroom

Suite The charming old arched window looks right up the drive to the highway, but the roadside houses are so far away that we do not usually put a curtain up, although it is at hand if you wish.

We ripped out the old bathroom entirely in order to feature the window. This bathroom has a 4-foot wide shower stall with glass doors, no tub. The toilet is to the left of the sink, behind the wall at the end of the shower stall. There is a large wall mirror over the toilet as well as the shaving/make up mirror to the right of the sink.
